Move r to the right side of the equation, G/e^2=m-y+r. Multiply both sides by e^2, G=(m-y+r)*e^2. Then divide both sides by m-y+r (it cannot be 0), G/(m-y+r)=e^2. Then e=+-\sqrt(G/(m-y+r)).
