In the instrumental (linear) pattern of grieving, the grief is experienced and expressed IN RESTLESSNESS OR MENTAL ACTIVITY.
The instrumental pattern of grieving is mostly seen in males where they show their grief in physical manner. It generally involves inward reflection of grief.
