Personally, I wouldn't agree with that statement.
The collapse of the stock market mainly caused by the Federal Banks that keep allowing the loan for the people who wanted to keep investing in the real estate even though there is no actual increase in real estate value.
This cause the people trapped into a massive debt without having any value in assets as a form of return
