first you must convert these fractions to have the same denominator.
so u can change 1/5 to 3/15 by multiplying by 3 on the numerator and denominator.

next u change 1/3 to 5/15 by multiplying the numerator and denominator by 5

then take 3/15+5/15= 8/15
