By the polynomial remainder theorem, [tex]k^2x^3-6kx+9[/tex] will be divisible by [tex]x-1[/tex] if the value of the polynomial at [tex]x=1[/tex] is 0.

[tex]k^2(1)^3-6k(1)+9=k^2-6k+9=(k-3)^2=0[/tex]

which occurs for [tex]k=3[/tex].
