The type of cell that HIV use as a host cell by attacking and destroying such cell is called as CD4 cells. It is a lymphocyte also referred to as T cells that is responsible for battling infections. Since the HIV cannot reproduce on its own, it binds to a host cell which is the CD4 cells.
