The general rule for the slope is:

[tex]m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}[/tex]

then, in this case we have:

[tex]\begin{gathered} m=\frac{-9-(-5)}{-4-(-2)}=\frac{-9+5}{-4+2}=\frac{-4}{-2}=2 \\ m=2 \end{gathered}[/tex]

therefore, the slope is m=2
