When we plot graph of a function f(x), the points of the graph has the form:

[tex]P=(x,f(x))[/tex]

So, if we know that the point (-2,-3) is in the graph, we have:

[tex](x,f(x))=(-2,-3)\rightarrow x=-2\text{ and }f(-2)=-3[/tex]

So f(-2)=-3.
