Given data,

Mass of the bus is m = 9800 kg,

Speed of the bus is v = 40 mph,

Converting speed of the bus in m/s, {1 miles per hour = 0.447 meter per second}

v = 40*0.447

v = 17.88

Calculating momentum of the bus,

[tex]\begin{gathered} P=\text{ mv} \\ P=\text{ 9800}\times17.88 \\ P=\text{ 175,224 kg.m/s} \end{gathered}[/tex]
