In general, in the case of two independent events X and Y,

[tex]P(X\cap Y)=P(X)*P(Y)[/tex]

Therefore, in our case,

[tex]\Rightarrow P(A\cap B)=P(AandB)=P(A)*P(B)=0.7*0.9=0.63[/tex]

Thus, the answer is P(A and B)=0.63
