Frequency is the number of complete wavelengths in a given unit of time.

[tex]f=\frac{c}{\lambda}[/tex]

From the above relation, the frequency is inversely proportional to the wavelength.

As the frequency increases, the wavelength gets shorter. As the frequency decreases, the wavelength gets longer.

Thus, if a wave has greater frequency the wavelength decreases.
