You could have an odd number of pennies. numbers like 3, 5, 7, 9,... can be expressed like 2n + 1, it means that you can break them into groups of 2 and always have 1 penny left.

For example, 7 can be divided in 3 groups of 2 and 1 penny left.

7 = 2(3) + 1
