Given the function:

[tex]f(x)=|x|-2[/tex]

We will find the value of f(-9)

So, we will substitute with x = -9 into the given function

Note: the absolute value of any negative number will be positive of the number.

So,

[tex]\begin{gathered} f(-9)=|-9|-2 \\ f(-9)=9-2 \\ f(-9)=7 \end{gathered}[/tex]

So, the answer will be f(-9) = 7
