(x+2)(x-3)
x^2 - 3x + 2x -6
x^2 -x - 6
(x^2 - x -6)(x+1)
x^3 -x^2 - 6x + x^2 - x - 6
x^3 - 7x - 6

The answer to your question "what is (x-2)(x-3)(x+1)" would be x^3-7x-6 by combining like terms and simplifying
