Answer: a common ion of xenon is fluoride-ion. xenon oxide difluoride is also a fluoride-ion acceptor, forming the only other anion containing xenon in the +4 oxidation state, the XeOF3− anion in Cs+XeOF3−. Xenon hexafluoride is both a strong fluoride-ion donor and a strong fluoride-ion acceptor.
