-5x-5+3(x+1)=-6x-1
this is for a correction test and I am very confused

-5x-5+3x+3=6x-1 (after expanding the 3(x+1) bracket)

Need to get all like terms on one side:

-5x+3x-6x=-1-3+5
-8x=1
-x=1/8
x=-1/8
