Get y on to one size. Subtract 12x from each side to get 8y=-12x+240. Then simplify by dividing each side by 8 to get y alone. y=3/2x+30 or y=1.5x+30

Step-by-step explanation:

subtract both sides by 12x

12x - 12x + 8y = 240 - 12x

8y = - 12x + 240

divide both sides by 8 and you get

y = - 12x/8 + 240/8

or

y = - 3x/2 + 30
