the base of the triangle would be 6, and the height is 3. the formula for the area of a triangle is bass times height divided by two, so it would be 6*3/2. this equals 9. the area of the triangle is 9. (if finding the combined area of the square and triangle, the area of a square is side times side, so it would be 36. 36+9 = 45. 45 is the combined area)
