Volume of mercury is given as 3.5 in³.

1 in³ = 16.387 cm³ = 16.387 cm³

So,

[tex] 3.5 in^{3} = 3.5\times 16.387 cm^{3} = 58.9 cm^{3} [/tex]

As density is defined as mass divided by volume.

Density of mercury is 13.6 g cm⁻³ .

That means

1 cm³ of mercury contains 13.6 g

58.9 cm³ of mercury contains 13.6×58.9 g

=798.4 g of mercury

Mass of mercury in 3.5 in³ of mercury is 798.4 g.
